Strawberry Surprises
After a week of nothing but overcast skies and drizzle, we finally got a peek at the sunshine this afternoon. I had some leftover planting to finish off with a freshly bought package of potting soil. To my overwhelming delight, I discovered that in the last week our strawberry plant has started to bloom and the fruits are at last turning red! What a perfect way to start off the weekend. This must be a sign of good things to come.

I'll be excited to hear what you make from your strawberries, or if you just enjoy them right off the vine! I love the picture.
ReplyDeleteI've been Googling strawberry recipes all afternoon, actually. Very open to suggestions! The ones from our little experiment will likely be eaten straight off the vine, but I have a fridge full of berries that need a home.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to hear how they turn out... or if you even get to eat them. My grandma used to grow strawberries, but most of them got eaten by critters before they were ripe enough for human consumption!
